What QR Ordering Actually Brings to Your Restaurant

Beyond the PDF on the table

During the pandemic, most restaurants "went digital" by converting their menu into a PDF and taping a QR code to the table. It solved the contactless-menu problem, but it changed nothing operationally. Guests viewed the menu on their phones, then gave their order to a server verbally — same service flow, same error rate, same staffing pressure.

The real payoff starts when the QR code is not a menu link but an ordering channel. The guest scans the code, browses the menu, builds the order themselves, and that order lands directly on the kitchen display. The whole relay of "server takes a note, walks to the terminal, keys it in, kitchen prints a ticket" disappears.
